Two People Hurt In Conway Shooting

Police have one suspect in custody and are looking for a second after two people were injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Conway. The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. inside a home in the 1300 block of Fourth Avenue. According to police, one of the victims was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition. He was shot in the head. A second person had a finger injury. It’s unclear if that person was shot. That victim was taken to a local hospital by ambulance and has since been released and was interviewed by police last night. The suspect that was taken into custody was arrested at the nearby Conrail Yard. Officials say the shooting appears to be drug-related.

Man Arrested For Threatening To Blow Up Ambridge Police Department

An Ambridge man is facing charges after allegedly threatening to blow up the Ambridge police department. According to a police report, 26-year-old John Tierney made several threats in an internet chat room, one of which stated there was a bomb in a the borough’s police station. Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in, but no explosives were detected.

Wayne Harley talked Rural Road Safety on Teleforum

Wayne Harley from the Beaver Lawrence Farm Bureau joined Frank Sparks on Teleforum to talk about Rural Road Safety on Tuesday April 11, 2017. The discussion was about driving safely on rural roads and sharing the roads with farmers who must travel on those roads to go from crop to crop. Wayne and Frank Also talked about the upcoming tractor expo at the Big Knob Grange this Saturday April 15, 2018 from 10 am to 2 pm. Wayne displays a sign that is being used in yards of rural neighborhoods to warn drivers of Farm vehicles.

“The Way Of The Cross” To Be Presented In Bridgewater On Good Friday

In cooperation with the borough of Bridgewater, the Bridgewater First Presbyterian Church and the Church of The Living Christ will present “The Way Of The Cross”, a live re-enactment of the Final Procession of Jesus Christ on Good Friday beginning at noon. Dr. William Silver, who is the pastor at Bridgewater First Presbyterian, joined Matt Drzik on A.M. Beaver County Tuesday morning to discuss the spiritual nature and details of this event. Steelers Fan Blitz 2017 Ticket Giveaway

Beaver County Radio listeners this is your chance to win your way into this year’s Steeler’s Fan Blitz at Heinz Field on April 29, 2017.

Beaver County Chief Clerk Julie Richards To Retire Next Month

One retirement brings about two job openings in Beaver County. Beaver County Radio’s Greg Benedetti reports that Julie Richards is retiring May 8th as chief clerk and administrative assistant to Commissioner Tony Amadio. Richards took on the duties of chief clerk when Chief of Staff Joe Weidner was fired last year. With Richard’s retirement, that leaves only one administrative assistant in the commissioners’ office. Chairman Sandie Egley has been without an assistant since the early days of her term when Randi Bick was fired.

Brush Fire Damages Garage And Part Of House In Franklin Township

NORTH SEWICKLEY FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED TO PUT OUT A STRUCTURE FIRE IN A GARAGE AT A HOUSE IN FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP YESTERDAY. THE CALL CAME IN JUST AFTER 4 P-M FOR THE FIRE IN THE 100 BLOCK OF PHILLIS DRIVE. THE FIRE BADLY DAMAGED THE GARAGE AND CAUSED SOME DAMAGE TO THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. OFFICIALS SAY A FIREFIGHTER HAD TO BE TREATED FOR UNSPECIFIED REASONS AT THE SCENE. NO OTHER INJURIES WERE REPORTED. NO WORD ON WHAT CAUSED THE BLAZE.

Lawrence County Man Tries To Put Out Fire In His Home, Escapes

A Lawrence County man woke up early today to find his house on fire. The 39-year-old man told authorities that he saw the fire in the living room and tried to put it out with water. When that didn’t work, he ran out of the house on Magee Street in Union Township and knocked on a neighbor’s door for help. The home collapsed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire Heavily Damages Catering Facility In Aliquippa

Just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Aliquippa with sirens blaring, firefighters from several departments responded  to fire at Beyond Parsley Catering..  Beaver County Radio News Correspondent Sandy Giordano reports that firefighters were still at the scene at  1p.m.  Owner Joe Ozimok posted that it was an electrical fire. A fire official said that  the origin of the fire is under investigation, and there is considerable smoke and water damage  as the fire traveled to the ceiling.
