Beaver Falls Christian Assembly To Be Featured At Christmas Eve Service

Beaver Falls Christian Assembly, 814 Lincoln Place is announcing The Stevens Family, will be featured at the Christmas Eve service at 5:00 p.m. They are from Warren, Ohio, and have been traveling in music ministry since 1985. Rich, Tami and Erin effectively minister the gospel to people of all ages through a variety of musical styles. They have completed many recordings, which showcase their creative songwriting abilities. The service is open to the public and a free will offering will be taken. Blood Drive In Beaver on Dec. 27

Beaver Falls 14, Central (Martinsburg) 7

For the first time in school history, the Beaver Falls Tigers were playing in the PIAA football playoffs.

And now for the first time in school history, the Tigers will be playing for gold in Hershey.

The #1-ranked Tigers defeated the Central (Martinsburg, PA) Scarlet Dragons by a score of 14-7. The defensive battle saw Central score on its first drive before BF stopped the Scarlet Dragons on all subsequent drives. The Tigers scored their two touchdowns early in the third and fourth quarters, and held off a late rally in the final two minutes by Central.

End of Game

The Scarlet Dragons end their season at 12-2, while the Tigers will play Middletown (14-0) in the PIAA Class 3A Championship at Hersheypark Stadium, on December 10 @ 3:30pm.

Beaver Falls’ Malik Shepherd and Central’s Alex Hoenstine were named the CCBC Players of The Game.

Central Valley School Board Holds Its Annual Re-Organizational Meeting

Central Valley School Board held its annual reorganization last night. According to Beaver County Radio Correspondent Sandy Giordano,  Tom Mowad was re-appointed president, vice president Dennis Bloom, Tom King, treasurer. Other board members include: Dave Ambrose, Joseph O’Neill, Dante Ross, Frank Shuter, and Dr. Nick Unis. Work sessions are the second Wedneday of the month at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, regular meetings  are the  third Thursday at 7 p.m.

One Dead After Crash In Cranberry Township

One person was killed today in an early-morning accident in Cranberry Township.The crash in the 22-hundred block of  Powell Road was reported shortly after 2 a.m. One vehicle was involved. Police say it crashed through a guard rail and went over an embankment. The road reopened at about 6 a.m. No further details were released.

Elderly Driver Crashes Into Beaver Flower Shop

An elderly driver who was trying to back up his car lost control, careened across the street and crashed into a Beaver borough flower shop. Police say the man had just finished breakfast with friends. He started to back up his vehicle when he hit the gas, crossing both lanes of Third Street. The car went 15 feet over a curb, through a heavily-traveled sidewalk and smashed into Snyder’s Flowers. Amazingly, no one was hurt. The doorway to the store has been temporarily fixed. The business is still open.

Veterans Breakfast on Saturday

Aliquippa Diversity Council will host the monthly Veterans Breakfast Saturday  at Uncommon Grounds .  the event is held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All veterans in the area invited to stop by and enjoy breakfast and socialize with other veterans.  Anyone wishing to donate to the 501c3 organization  should speak to a Diversity Council member when visiting the event.  For more information you may contact Catherine Colalella , Diversity Council chairman at 724-622-3891.
