LUNCH AT THE (Beaver) LIBRARY 03/03/18

The Beaver Area Memorial Library will hold its annual “LUNCH AT THE LIBRARY” on Saturday, March 3rd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.  Homemade soups, breads, and desserts will be served.  The cost of a bowl of soup with bread is $3.00 and dessert is $3.00.  Take-outs will be available after 1:00 pm.  The event will be held in the meeting room of the library, 100 College Ave. in Beaver. It is sponsored by the Friends of the Beaver Library and all proceeds will benefit the library.  For more information, call the library at 724-775-1132.

Lawrence County Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen He Met On Dating App

A New Castle man is facing a long list of charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl he met on a dating app. 44-year-old Douglas Gilghrist allegedly traveled to Montgomery County last summer after meeting the teen on the app. State police say he sexually assaulted and had indecent contact with the victim on a number of occasions. Gilghrist was arrested last week at his workplace. He’s now being held in the Lawrence County jail.
