Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was scheduled to campaign in Ambridge today. Trump was scheduled to speak between 3:30 and 5:30 pm at the high school field house. Ambridge area students were dismissed early today. Last night, Trump debated Democrat Hillary Clinton in the second of three nationally televised debates.

Beaver Falls police are still looking for the person who shot and killed 25-year-old Justin Simmons of Beaver Falls. Simmons was found lying face down in the street at Morado Dwellings Friday night.

Beaver County Controller David Rossi has confirmed that the audit of Friendship Ridge shows that the new owners, Comprehensive Healthcare, still owe the county $1.3 million. So far, the commissioners have issued no comment on the audit.

The Beaver County Commissioners have named Julie Richards chief clerk. By law, the county is required to have a chief clerk and the recently fired Joe Weidner included that role in his duties as chief of staff. Richards is Commissioner Tonhy Amadio’s secretary and she will receive a three thousand dollar pay hike for assuming additional duties.

The average price of gasoline in the United States has risen four cents over the past two weeks to $2.29 a gallon for regular grade. Cost increase is in response to an increase in crude oil prices. Gas prices are up 13 cents over nine weeks. Gas prices are slightly higher in this area.

A lawsuit by the former Penn Statg assistant football coach who witnessed one time fellow coach Jerry Sandusky abuse a young boy in the team shower is about to go to trial. Mike McQueary claims in a defamation and whistleblower lawsuit against Penn State that he was wrongly retaliated against and fired in 2012 after Sandusky was convicted of abusing 10 boy.s Jury selection began today.
