Two of the Penn State Master Gardeners Don Buffington and Adele Whipple stopped by Teleforum with Frank Sparks on Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 9 a.m. to talk lawns, gardens, trees, garlic and fall.
Adele, Don, and Frank covered a variety of topics having to do with gardens and yards and they talked ways to deter damage to your plants and gardens. They also answered questions that were called in by the listeners during the show.

Due to the extreme heat expected this week, the Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls will be reducing its hours of operation today, Wednesday and Thursday. The Library hours will be 10am to 4:30pm. Over two dozen schools have already announced plans to send students home early today and Wednesday due to high heat and humidity. One of those schools is right here in Beaver County: The Riverside Beaver County School District is operating on a two-hour early release schedule today. A post on the district’s website says:

A Beaver County Republican official who referred to black NFL players who kneel during the national anthem as “baboons” in a Facebook post has resigned. Former Beaver County Republican Committee secretary Carla Maloney resigned Friday in a letter to the committee’s chairman. Maloney called black players “baboons” on her personal Facebook in response to athletes who have knelt during the national anthem in protest of social injustice.
