AAA: Winter Crashes Account For Nearly Half Of All Crashes

TRIPLE-A IS ADVISING MOTORISTS TO PREPARE FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER TO AVOID DEADLY SITUATIONS. ABOUT 46 PERCENT OF ALL CRASHES ON THE ROAD INVOLVING BAD WEATHER…TAKE PLACE DURING THE WINTER. THAT’S ACCORDING TO RESEARCH BY THE TRIPLE-A FOUNDATION FOR TRAFFIC SAFETY. WINTER STORMS, BAD WEATHER, AND SLOPPY ROAD CONDITIONS ARE A FACTOR IN NEARLY HALF A MILLION CRASHES AND MORE THAN TWO-THOUSAND ROAD DEATHS EVERY YEAR.

The State House of Representatives was in session Tuesday in the state capitol and members had the opportunity to attend Governor Wolf’s inauguration ceremony for his second term. New Castle Police: Who Left A Bullet In A School Hallway?

New Castle police are looking for the person who left a bullet in a school hallway. Officers were called to New Castle Junior-Senior High School yesterday when officials found the bullet on the floor. A check of surveillance video was unable to uncover a suspect and no evidence of a threat was found.

Big Beaver Ponders What To Do With Waste When Proposed Mini-Casino Opens Its Doors

State officials want to know what Mount Airy and borough officials plan to do with its waste once a proposed mini-casino opens its doors. The state Department of Environmental Protection wants Big Beaver officials to submit an official sewage facility plan to the state before it will give its blessing to Mount Airy Pittsburgh. The plan would outline the borough’s wastewater and sewage-disposal needs and its proposed treatment solution. The facility would be just off Interstate 376 at the intersection of Shenango Road and Fairlane Boulevard in Big Beaver.
