Longtime Pennsylvania Walmart Greeter Who Has Cerebral Palsy Fears He’ll Lose His Job

A longtime Walmart greeter who has cerebral palsy is afraid he’ll be out of work after store officials changed his job description to add tasks that he’s physically unable to do. Adam Catlin uses a walker and is legally blind. He says he was told by store management in Pennsylvania that he needs to be able to lift 25 pounds (11 kilograms), stand for long periods and read receipts. Walmart calls Catlin a “valued member of the team” and says it’s looking for a way to keep him on.

Two State Senators Propose Extending Family Medical Leave Bill

Two state senators are proposing a bill that would extend family medical leave rights. Senators Tom Killion and Andy Dinniman say their measure would provide up to six weeks of protected but unpaid leave for someone to care for a terminally ill family member, including a sibling, grandparent, or grandchild. Dinniman says they’re working to make this bill specific and as business friendly as possible.

PA Atty Gen Josh Shapiro Says He’s Still Getting Complaints About Verizon

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says his office is still getting complaints about Verizon Communications. Shapiro filed a lawsuit last week saying the company didn’t deliver on promised incentives for some two-year contracts. Since filing the suit and receiving assurances from the company that the problems are behind them, Shapiro says he’s gotten dozens of calls saying that isn’t the case.
