PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia police say a fisherman found part of a human leg with a sneaker on it in the Delaware River. The leg was discovered around 8 p.m. Thursday. But it’s not clear how it got into the river or how long it had been in the water. Authorities say a 27-year old man was fishing near the Graffiti Pier when he spotted part of a right leg _ from the kneecap to the foot, with a sneaker still attached. Emergency responders then searched the waterway to see if other body parts could be located.

All Pittsburgh police officers will be equipped with body cams by the end of the year. City officials made that announcement this week. Since 2012, motorcycle and bike officers have been wearing the cameras, with 200-more purchased for the department in 2015.

We have an update now on the structure fire in North Sewickley Township we told you about yesterday: A family dog is recovering after being rescued from the home. North Sewickley Township firefighters found the animal yesterday amid the smoke and flames that gutted the Mercer Road home, then gave it oxygen at the scene. Other residents made it out safely.

The Beaver County Corporation for Economic Development is beginning the transition to a new leader. The C-E-D is turning to Vice President Laura Rubino to lead in the interim as the search for a new president begins. Rubino replaces the retiring Jim Palmer who had served as president since 1993. The search for the president is expected to take between six-to-12 months.
