Breaking News!!! Man in custody after stand-off in Patterson Twp.

(Patterson Twp.) Local Police and a SWAT team surrounded a home in Patterson Twp. Monday afternoon, May 6, 2019. According to emergency officials, a “sensitive police incident” was ongoing along Steffen Hill. The road was closed to traffic as the scene began to unfold. Emergency dispatchers would not say  how the incident started or if anyone was injured.

Reports have said that flashbangs could be heard going off at the scene, and the SWAT team was calling to someone suspected to be in a home.

At this time one person was taken into custody just before 3 p.m.  and the situation was diffused. Stay tuned to Beaver County Radio for continuing updates on this developing story.

Reports of Facebook say that the road has since re-opened to traffic.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Husband Attend Jimmy Carter’s Sunday School Class

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten Glezman, have joined the large crowd at former President Jimmy Carter’s Sunday school class in Plains, Georgia. At Carter’s invitation Buttigieg stood and read from the Bible as part of the lesson at Maranatha Baptist Church. Carter told the audience that two other Democratic presidential candidates, Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota, had previously attended his classes. Carter said he knew Buttigieg from working on a Habitat for Humanity project in Indiana where the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, volunteered. Many in the class greeted Buttigieg and took photos with him before Carter arrived in the sanctuary and took a seat in the front to teach.

LONDON (AP) — A formal baby announcement has been posted at Buckingham Palace saying Queen Elizabeth II welcomed the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan’s son, her eighth great-grandchild. A pair of uniformed staff members placed the framed announcement on an easel just inside the palace gates Monday afternoon, observing a tradition hours after the new prince’s arrival was announced on social media.

Ex-Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen Starts His Prison Term Today

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump’s ex-lawyer and fixer has arrived at an upstate New York prison to start a three-year sentence for crimes including campaign finance violations related to hush-money payments made on Trump’s behalf. A vehicle carrying Michael Cohen arrived at around 11:30 a.m. EDT Monday at the federal prison in Otisville, about 70 miles (113 kilometers) northwest of New York City.

Top Republican Calls Democratic Effort To Hold Barr In Contempt Of Congress ‘Illogical’

WASHINGTON (AP) — The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee is calling a Democratic effort to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt of Congress “illogical and disingenuous.” Georgia Rep. Doug Collins said Democrats “have launched a proxy war smearing the attorney general” when their anger actually lies with President Donald Trump and special counsel Robert Mueller.

UNDATED (AP) — Nature is in more trouble now than ever, and scientists say it is humanity’s fault. A United Nations report released Monday says 1 million species of plants and animals are threatened with extinction. Scientists blame development that’s led to loss of habitat, climate change, overfishing, pollution and invasive species. They say there’s still time to save Earth’s species and people who depend on them.
