St. Barnabas Charities will be hosting its annual “Ladies’ Day Out” at Trees Manor in Gibsonia on Saturday, October 8th from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The event will feature live music, local vendors showcasing their merchandise, a basket raffle, 50/50, and prizes given away every 30 minutes!
Proceeds from “Ladies’ Day Out”–one of five annual events held by St. Barnabas Charities–go to the Free Care Fund. Tickets can be purchased by going to this link, where they can find out more information about the event.

(Beaver Falls, Pa.) On this week’s episode of Living Well on Beaver County Radio at 8:30 AM Saturday morning Dr. Joseph Maroon and Jeff Bost, PAC, will present part three of a three parts series highlighting Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
The series got under way last Saturday and will include the history of dementia related disease, typical symptoms, causes, risk factors, prevention and much more.
Dr. Joseph Maroon is a world renown neurosurgeon with extensive experience in neurosurgery. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery to speed recovery for his patients. He is a sports medicine expert and innovator in concussion management, personal fitness and nutrition. Dr. Maroon is also the Pittsburgh Steelers team doctor.
Jeff Bost is a consultant to the St. Barnabas Health System. Bost is also a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Neurosurgery at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a consultant to the WWE, and Clinical Assistant Professor at Chatham University. He has a special interest in minimally invasive spine and brain surgery and have collaborated on scores of scientific medical papers and books in these areas. Over the last 15 years he has researched, lectured and written on the use of alternative treatment for pain control.
Bost, along with Dr. Joseph Maroon have authored two books on the use of omega-3 fish oil, including: Fish Oil: The Natural Anti-Inflammatory, currently in its forth printing with over 75,000 copies sold and recently, Why You Need Fish Oil. He has given over 100 invited lectures, 24 national posters and oral presentations, 29 coordinated research projects, five workshops presentations, 35 scientific articles and 10 book chapters.

Dr. Allan Klapper Joins Jim Roddey On This Week’s Heroes; Carnegie Hero Fund Series Begins
AHN Wexford President Dr. Allan Klapper joins host Jim Roddey on this week’s episodes of “Heroes” to celebrate one year of the new facility in Western Pennsylvania. Also, Eric Zahren (president) of the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission joins Jim to begin their 10-part series on winners of the Carnegie Medal.

Week Six Of High School Football Means Less Than A Month Until Playoffs Begin

Playoff spots, playoff seeding, and conference championships are made official after Week 9, but they are established throughout the season with games such as those taking place in Week 6.
In the Big Seven Conference in Class 1A, Rochester (3-2) will host Union (4-2) on WBVP, 99.3 FM, Facebook Live and Trib Live. Both teams have suffered only one conference loss thus far, with both teams falling to Laurel–Union fell 28-22 in Week 4, and the Rams enter tonight’s contest after their 30-21 loss to Laurel last week. The Scotties are looking to maintain momentum following their 48-13 non-conference win over Springdale in Week 5. Bob Barrickman and John Perrotto have the call from Rochester Stadium beginning with pregame at 6:30 PM and kickoff slated for 7:00 PM.
On WMBA, 95.7 FM and Trib Live tonight, the Aliquippa Quips (5-0) look to stay unbeaten as they travel to Blackhawk (3-3) in a Parkway Conference showdown in Class 4A. The Cougars look to rebound from last week’s 42-0 loss at the hands of Central Valley, while Aliquippa looks to push their overall streak to 18 wins in a row having come off a 55-20 win over Ambridge in Week 5. Mike Azadian and Bruce Frey have the call from Blackhawk Stadium with pregame at 6:30 PM and kickoff slated for 7:00 PM.
