“It’s Ladies’ Day Out. And what do ladies like to do most? They like to see beautiful homes, they like to go to lunch, and they love to shop. So they can do everything in one day.”
Now in its 21st year, the AAUW Kitchen Tour returns to Beaver County on Saturday, September 24. The event runs from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM headquartered at the “Marketplace” at Dutch Ridge Elementary School in Brighton Township. Kitchen tours will run from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM, and lunch courtesy of Butcher & Son Public House will be served from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Dutch Ridge Elementary.
The event will feature not just five different kitchen interiors that run the gambit from rustic aesthetic to modern technological advances, but each house on the Kitchen Tour will feature delicacies ranging from homemade biscotti to handcrafted tabouli from AAUW member Salam Raskovsky. The Marketplace will feature several different local vendors selling their creations–such as chocolates, jewelry, and clothing–and there also be raffles and prize baskets up for grabs at the Marketplace as well.
Tickets are available at The Hostess Gift Shoppe in Beaver in advance for $20, and they are available on the day of the event for $25 at The Hostess Gift Shoppe as well as Dutch Ridge Elementary School. Lunch tickets MUST be purchased separately before September 21; the amount is $12 and they can be purchased at The Hostess Gift Shoppe. Parking for the event is free at Dutch Ridge Elementary.
