“Radio Dial Rewind”, Wednesday May 30, 2018 on Teleforum with Frank Sparks featured Tom Stein, Alan Boal, Jimi Miller and Carl Anderson!!!

 

 

The second to last day, Wednesday May 30, 2018,   of “Radio Dial Rewind” on Teleforun with Frank Sparks featured  a more legends of Beaver County Radio.

The morning started of with Tom Stein joining Frank in studio. Tom talked about his time on the air and told some stories of things that occurred both on and off the air. The last living member of the original on air staff of WBVP in 1948 Alan Boal joined Frank in the 10 o’clock hour. Alan talked about how radio was back in the early days and his time in the service being a part of the Armed Forces Network. Hour Three kicked off with Jimi Miller in studio with Frank. Jimi told stories of his days at both WBVP and WMBA. Jimi poked fun at the numerous amounts of times that he was fired over the years for not playing by the rules. Jimi told the listeners about the time that he went back on the air at WMBA when the gas explosion happened in Ambridge in the 1980’s. Click the play button below to hear Jimi’s interview……..

 

The final act for the day was Carl Anderson who worked for WBVP/WWKS back in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Carl told so many good stories to the listeners about his days at Beaver County Radio. One of the highlighted stories was about the time when Bill Cameron supposedly locked himself up in the studio and played DEF Leopard for 72 hours until the owners changed the stations format.
