Goodie Bags, Tie Dye Shirts And Great Prizes. Final Preparations Underway For The “Run For McGuire.”

(Beaver Falls, PA)  The “Run For McGuire” Committee gathered together at Beaver County Radio headquarters in Beaver Falls, PA  on Friday night to stuff goodie bags that will be given out to the first 200 participants in Sunday’s charity motorcycle ride. In addition to the goodie bags, this year’s “Run For McGuire” tee shirts, which have a tie dye pattern, were revealed, along with several fantastic prize baskets that had been assembled earlier in the day by WBVP-WMBA staff members.  Prizes included in the baskets are Tee Shirts from McMahon’s Cycle Sales, Kennywood tickets from WBVP-WMBA, gift certificate from Elements Day Spa and Salon, gift certificates from Big Nerd Tatoos and Art Gallery in New Brighton, gift certificates from Al’s Corner, tee shirt and driving glasses from Mac’s Motorcycles, a “Divine Time” clock, New King James Bible, and note pad holder and set from The Christian Motorcyclists Association,  a copy of the recently published book, “Behind The Microphone, The History Of Radio In Beaver County, PA”, and  a gift card and other merchandise from Texas Roadhouse in Monaca, among other things.

The Goodie bags were provided by Minuteman Press in Beaver Falls and after being filled, they included items from the Beaver Falls McDonalds, Cycle Motion, McGuire Memorial, WBVP-WMBA, Farmers Insurance, route directions, and other things.

Registration for “The Run For McGuire, A Special Ride For Special People” begins at 9 A. M. on Sunday August 5, 2018 at WBVP-WMBA 1316 7th Avenue in Beaver Falls, PA 15010.  For more information follow on Facebook, or  visit the Run For McGuire web page.

This year’s route is a 60 plus mile trek through Beaver and Lawrence counties that was designed by Beaver Falls Police Chief John DeLuca and motorcycle patrolman Jim Siget.  The caravan will stop at Sheetz in New Castle, and at McGuire Memorial in Daugherty Township before ending with a celebration picnic at Brady’s Run Park.  DeLuca and Siget will provide police escort of the “Run For McGuire” on Sunday.

This is the 5th year that WBVP-WMBA has organized and sponsored the “Run For McGuire”.  So far, over $15,000 has been raised and donated to help fund the ongoing care and support of the special individuals served by McGuire Memorial.  Over 300 people have participated in previous rides.  Once again this year, all net proceeds will be donated to the McGuire Memorial Foundation.
