Robert N. Steigerwald, 74, of Economy, passed away peacefully on September 17th, 2026. He was born on January 31st, 1952, the beloved son of the late Norman and Lillian Steigerwald.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Radich.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Deborah Steigerwald, his children, Megan (Raymond) Kronz and Ian (Sarah) Steigerwald, his grandson, Tyler Kronz, his stepmother, Bunny Steigerwald, his nephew, Michael (Mandie) Radich, his aunt, Jeannine Bachner and his cousins, Kim (Lawrence) Cooley and Stacy (Kevin) Maehling.
Robert was a graduate of Shaler High School, Class of 1969. He went on to attend technical school and began a long and fulfilling career as a draftsman engineer with Marshall Elevator Company, where he worked for 40 years. Even after retiring, he continued to share his knowledge and expertise in engineering with other companies.
He was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freedom and had an unwavering faith that guided him throughout his life. He had a deep love for all animals and found great joy in boating and fishing at Moraine State Park. He took great pride in caring for his yard and garden and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
Above all, he cherished his family. He lived his life with “patience and kindness,” qualities that will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Some of his happiest memories were made spending time with his family at “The Cottage” and Pymatuning State Park. He also enjoyed watching UFC fights with his son, Ian.
Robert will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his love, kindness, faith, and the many memories he created with those closest to him will remain in their hearts forever.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, September 26th at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Rochester Road, Freedom. Burial will follow immediately afterward.
