R. Andrew Why, 50, of Patterson Heights, passed away on August 17th, 2026, at his home.
He was born in Rochester on June 15th, 1976, a son of the late Raymond and Patricia (Gallagher) Why.
Andrew attended Robert Morris University and he spent a long and meaningful career working with Energy Services. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls, and a member of the Beaver-Butler Presbytery. He was known for being a coach for Blackhawk Basketball, Blackhawk Little Cougars, where he made lasting and meaningful impacts on the youth.
He is survived by his son, Gabriel Why, his sister, Faith (David) Zupsic, his brother, Jack Kincade, his special friend and mother of his son, Megan (Mark) Helsel, his nieces and nephews: Noah, Cameron, Christian, Tyler, Grace, and Cassidy; as well as a special friend, Shawn (Robyn) McCracken and extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer McCracken.
Friends will be received on Friday, August 21st from 2-4 P.M. & 6-8 P.M. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at 10 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls, 1103 8th Ave, Beaver Falls. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to services at 9 A.M. Rev. David Oyler will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
