Michael J. Scanlon -September 27, 1973 – August 04, 2026

Michael J. Scanlon, 52, of New Brighton, PA, entered into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 4, 2026, at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born on September 27, 1973, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Richard and Genevieve (Milko) Scanlon.

Mike was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan whose enthusiasm for his team was well known by everyone around him. A longtime resident of McGuire Memorial Homes since 2000, Mike became a beloved and familiar presence, known for his positive attitude, wonderful sense of humor, and unforgettable smile. A devoted Catholic, his faith was an important part of his life, and he faithfully attended church each week. Above all, he will be remembered for the happiness he brought to others, his ability to make people laugh, and the warm smile that could brighten any room.

He is survived by his siblings, Diane Scanlon and her wife, Julie Bursnworth Scanlon and Rick (Eleanor Ours) Scanlon; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his sister, Cheryl Herrington.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday August 11, 2026 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM until the time of departing prayers at 9:30AM at the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Inc., 1133 Penn Avenue New Brighton, PA 15066, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Cecilia Church – Our Lady of the Valley Parish, 632 Virginia Ave, Rochester, PA 15074 at 10AM.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Beaver Falls.

Mike also had a special love for animals and found great joy in their companionship, therefore the family asks that contributions in Mike’s name be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 2294 Brodhead Road Aliquippa, PA 15001.
