Margaret Ann Vild, 90, passed away on November 25th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 5th, 1934, the daughter of the late Wilmer and Geraldine George of Daugherty Township. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard George, sister in-laws Janet George & Doris George and nephews Aaron George and Wray Noel. She is survived by a brother, Wilmer (Bill) George, of Rochester, her four children: Robert (Bob) George of Daugherty Township, Nancy (Gary) Hoover of Darlington, Mark Vild of Chicago and Jeffrey (Cindy) Vild of Texas. She had eight grandchildren whom she adored: Sara George, Ashley (Mike) Dilenno, Robert “Bobby” George, Christopher and Amy Reehl, Brittney (Spencer) Pettigrew, Kevin (Tony) and Alex Vild. She has six great grandchildren: Bobby George, Sarai George, Emma and Maisy Dilenno, Ava and Chloe Pettigrew. She also adored her niece Darlene Noel, nephews Rick (Marsha) and Dave (Shelly) George, a great niece Carrie (TJ) Lofaso whom she enjoyed vacationing at Lake Champlain and visiting after church weekly. She is also survived by her dearest friend & buddy Janet Johnston.
Margaret graduated from Rochester High School, and worked at Mayer China in Beaver Falls, Westinghouse Electric in Vanport and Allegheny Valley School in Coraopolis.
She was also a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and attended New Brighton Methodist Church. She belonged to 4-H Club back in her youth, was a girl scout leader, and enjoyed coffee breaks at the house with her family and friends. She also enjoyed yearly vacations with family to Cedar Point and Presque Isle for many years, working in her flower beds at home, animals of any kinds, card club, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, California, Florida, Arizona, Niagara Falls, New England States, Cancun, Lancaster and Gettysburg. A Special thanks goes to Good Samaritan Hospice (Jessica, Jennifer, Ashley, Sadie), and Shelly and Dave George, Darlene Noel, Carrie Lofaso, Dan and Chris Patsch, Chris and Amy Reehl, Rhonda Shingleton, Debi Anderson, Mary Estep, Marian Antoline, and Trilby and Mark Reehl for the meals this last month.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, November 30th, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. in J & J Spratt Funeral Home, 1612 Third Avenue, New Brighton. Pastor Gary Hilton, officiating.
In accordance with her wishes, Margaret will be cremated after all services.
