Judith “Judy” Lynn Bittner, 74, of Rochester, passed away peacefully after a strong and graceful fight with cancer on July 18th, 2026 at UPMC Passavant Hospital surrounded by her husband, children, and sisters.

She was born on August 27th, 1951 at Beaver Falls Hospital, a daughter of the late Elizabeth and William Miller.

Judith graduated from Ambridge High School in 1969, and after graduation, she became a travel agent at AAA where she got to travel the world.

She continued as a travel agent for the majority of her career before becoming a paraprofessional at Rochester School District specifically working with kindergarten, before retirement.

She loved many things: staying in the ocean all day, trips to the casino, the stop at Sara’s to get an ice cream cone on her way to Niagara, her lunch dates with friends, watching sports as she laid across her bed, reading historical fiction, and crafting.

Most importantly, she loved her family and friends; she found the most amount of joy in life from being surrounded by her loved ones and being there to support them. She had an overflowing amount of pride towards her children and grandchildren as she loved being a mum and Mimi. Throughout her cancer battle, she made an effort to show up to each of her grandkid’s events from halftime shows and band concerts to late night hockey games, soccer matches, hot baseball and softball games. She was full of love, kindness, and humor and anyone that had the privilege of knowing her understands the lasting impact she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Macon Wills Bittner.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Mark Bittner, her three children: Michael Bittner and his wife, Jacy of Center Township, Emily Bittner of New Brighton and Jordan Bittner and his partner, Chassidy Mesko of New Brighton, five grandchildren; Camden, Gus, Archie, Harper, and Maxwell Bittner; as well as two sisters, Bonnie (Chuck) Kolder and Tracy (Glenn) Sylvester, two brother in laws, James (Kelly) Bittner and Mike (Karen) Bittner and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the hospital staff at UPMC Passavant, UPMC Shadyside, and Concordia for all the care and love they showed Judy.

A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the branch of Huntsman Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
