Dora Jean Young, 94, of South Beaver Township, passed away on September 15th, 2026, at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Industry on September 20th, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Genevieve (Klink) Hockenberry. Jean was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Darlington. She was a cafeteria worker for 24 years for the Blackhawk School District and a bookkeeper for the former Midland Milling. She was a 1949 graduate of Midland High School. She loved playing cards, reading, watching Lawrence Welk shows and being with her family. She enjoyed cooking, especially large Sunday dinners with everyone she cared most about. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard A. “Dick” Young, her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Noca Hockenberry, and brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law: Patty Young, Ralph Young, Martha and Gene Newton, and Dave Minteer. She took great pride in being a mother and grandmother to a son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Karen Young and a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joseph Schmalzried, all of South Beaver Township. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marcie Young and Jonathan of North Sewickley Township, Michelle Reitter and John, South Beaver Township and Timothy Lutton of Pittsburgh, five great grandchildren: Cassandra, Trevor and Kyle Reitter and Logan and Samantha Young; as well as her brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws: Lawrence “Gene” Young, June Young, Polly Minteer, Jerry and Terrye Young; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, September 18th from 3 P.M. until the time of service at 6 P.M. at CORLESS-KUNSELMAN FUNERAL SERVICES, LLC, 3801 4th Avenue, Beaver Falls, who was in charge of her arrangements.
