Carl “Benny” L. Martell (1930-2026)

Carl “Benny” L. Martell, 96, passed away on September 7th, 2026.

He was born in Ohioville on September 5th, 1930, a son of the late Carl and Mary Martell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Martell, his brothers, Joseph (Thelma) Martell and Richard (Charlene) (Marion) Martell, his sister, Mary June Martell (Adams), his brother-in-law, Kenneth Adams and his nephew, Rick Martell.

He is survived by his nephew, Jeff (Stacey) Adams and his nieces, Denise (Rick) Turyan and Debra (Larry) Langford.

Carl began his education at the Ohioville Farm School and later graduated from Midland High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having honorably served during the Korean War while stationed in Japan. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work to Crucible Steel as a hot mill roller, and later contributed his time to GNC Security.

He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and his hunting took him across North America, tracking game through Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska, and British Columbia. He was an accomplished sportsman who dedicated much of his time to trap, pistol, and archery shooting.

There are no services at this time for Carl.
