Alice (Gold) Dietrich, 96, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on September 1st, 2026 in her home.
She was born in New Sewickley Township on December 31st, 1929, a daughter of the late Robert Henry and Mary Ellen Gold.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John J. “Jack” Dietrich Sr., her son, John J. Dietrich Jr., her brothers: Robert, David, William & Edward Gold; as well as two sisters, Mary Ellen Palmquist and Katherine McClellan.
She is survived by three children, Robert P. & Lisa Dietrich, Mary Ellen & Ron Lehocky, and Jeffrey A. & Pamela Dietrich, her daughter-in-law: Ernestine Dietrich, 13 grandchildren: Jason Dietrich, Amy Rachuba, Jesse Dietrich, Shane Dietrich, Kaydi Taylor, Maggie Johnston, Bryan Lehocky, Bradley Lehocky, Brett Lehocky, Kristyna Dietrich, Marcy Wilson, Kathy Jo Clark, and Mary Tyler; as well as 31 great grandchildren.
Alice was a 1948 graduate of New Brighton High School and Garfield Business Institute of Beaver Falls. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, which is now Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Freedom. That was where she attended LWML conventions and Camp Pioneer with her church ladies. She was an 80-year Charter Member of the Big Knob Grange, as well as a club leader. She also taught woodworking classes with 4H. She demonstrated how to cane and rush chairs at Old Economy Village and was a member of the Homemakers Group and Card Club. She taught upholstery night class for CCBC at Freedom Middle School and attended CCBC woodworking night classes for 25 years. She had an home delivering egg service for 55 years called “The Egg Lady.”
Friends will be received on Saturday, September 5th from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Rochester Road, Freedom, PA 15074.
Interment will follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery, 60 Rochester Road, Freedom, PA 15074.
