Winter weather becomes a factor into the death of a Carrick High School senior in the Carrick neighborhood of Pittsburgh in 2025

(Pittsburgh, PA) Winter weather has been determined to be a factor in a crash that killed a teenage girl in the Carrick neighborhood of Pittsburgh last year. A seventeen-year-old girl who was a senior at Carrick High School was killed on December 19th2025 and she was hit by a vehicle that was sliding along Brownsville Road. The Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team will now be implementing a number of safety changes near the intersection of Brownsville Road and Woodford Avenue, and this includes curb extensions along West Woodford Avenue.
