(Aliquippa, PA) At 6:31 p.m. Beaver County 9-1-1 received a call for a transformer on fire on Mill Street in Aliquippa. A businessman was watering plants at his place of work, when the blast blew him back, he was not injured.
Multimedia Content Associate Nicholas Ruffolo said in a release that there was an equipment issue near Meadowlark Drive and crews worked to isolate the problem with the loss of power that resulted in the area. Power was fully restored by Saturday morning.
Ruffolo said sometimes when there are issues with underground equipment , it can cause a visible spark on the overhead lines.
