(Beaver County, PA) Starting today, the Genesis Collective is hosting the free “Uncommon Concert” Series. These concerts will occur in both Ambridge and Aliquippa. This began in 2021 and the Genesis Collective is a non-profit in Beaver County that both provides experiences of art to the community and supports creativity. These concerts hosted by the Beaver County non-profit will feature acts including Aliquippa native Janine Gilbert-Carter, an international gospel and jazz singer. The Pittsburgh Foundation and the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh are also in part sponsors of these concerts. According to the Beaver County Times, here are the dates, times, locations and more information about these concerts.
- June 27th at PJ Caul Park, 11th Street, Ambridge: Activities begin at 6 p.m. and include a bounce house, Sweetwater Center for the Arts mobile art bus, the SweetRide artists display and a public art project participation. Food and drink offerings include Fermata Brewing, Bruster’s Ice Cream, Curbside Cocina and Holzinger’s Imbiss. Kenny Sharp and Brown Liquor Music perform at 7 p.m. Sharp and his band perform funk-soul music and they’ve attended every Uncommon Concert.
- July 18th, Trophimus Center, 823 Maplewood Avenue, Ambridge: Voces Solis, a professional chamber choir based in Pittsburgh with a diverse repertoire and accompanied by several instrumentalists, will perform at 7 p.m.
- August 1st at Uncommon Grounds Cafe, 380 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa: The Yoko Suzuki Trio, a Pittsburgh-based jazz trio led by saxophonist Yoko Suzuki, will perform at 7 p.m. Dinner and the Slurp and Burst Boba Tea truck will be available.
- August 15th at Uncommon Grounds Cafe, 380 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa: Janine Gilbert-Carter, an international jazz and gospel singer from Aliquippa, will perform at 7 p.m. Dinner and the Bruster’s Ice Cream truck will be available.
