Six Positions Are Eliminated From Beaver County Sheriff’s Office

A total of six jobs have been cut from the Beaver County Sheriff’s office. Four of those jobs were full-time positions in line for promotions that were held up because of opposition from the county commissioners. The Beaver County Salary Board made the decision to eliminate those positions at their meeting yesterday – without the approval of Sheriff Tony Guy. Guy is on vacation and therefore was not at yesterday’s meeting. Amadio tells Beaver County Radio newsman Pat Septak that he voted against the cuts because four of those positions being cut were the subject of a grievance filed by deputies back in July, and he says he didn’t want to vote on the issue before that grievance is settled. As far as the board taking a vote while Sheriff Guy was away on vacation, Amadio says – “I’m not driving the bus anymore; I’m just a passenger”.
