Sheriff Guy Warns Residents about Phone Scam Claiming To Be a Sheriff’s Officer

(Beaver, Pa.) The Beaver County Sheriff’s Office is warning Beaver County residents of a phone scam that is going on in the county.
Beaver County Sheriff Tony Guy said via release that his department received numerous calls, on November 2, 2022, that were complaints about a male that called them and identified himself as Lt. Scott Morrison of the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office. In the cases where a voicemail was left the person leaves a call back number of 724-397-0577.
He advises the victims that he has a warrant for their arrest and that they need to call him back as soon as possible.
Sheriff Guy said in the release that No such individual works for the Sheriff’s Office nor does the phone number belong to his office. His office does not take credit card information or other forms of payment or personal information over the phone.
Sheriff Guy says if you receive one of these phone calls please document the number and call the Beaver County Warrants Unit at 724-512-2395 or email warrants@beavercountypa.gov to report it.
