Sewer Lines in East Rochester Borough Constricted by “Flushable” Wipes

Flushable wipes are clogging private and public sewer lines in East Rochester borough. Borough secretary Marlene McRoberts tells Beaver County Radio newsman Pat Septak that the wipes, although labeled as safe to flush, are not disintegrating. She says the result is a plumbing nightmare. This year, borough officials have cleaned the pump and extracted the wipes as much as once or twice a month. McRoberts advises against flushing wipes even if the package indicates otherwise.
