(Allegheny County, PA) A section of Route 65 was closed for hours as crews worked to battle flames that broke out inside a home in Leetsdale Borough in Allegheny County yesterday PennDOT officials stated that day that northbound Route 65 was closed to traffic between Ferry Street and Rapp Street to accommodate emergency responders battling a fire. According to PennDOT’s website, 511, the road was closed around 11:20 a.m. Officials expressed that the road reopened just before 4 p.m. WTAE reached out to the Leetsdale Fire Department, which said that one firefighter sustained a minor injury and the fire only required one line to be taken down but it extended to the roof of the home. Dispatchers confirm that no one was taken to the hospital from the scene. It is unclear at this time what led to the fire.
