(New Castle, Pa) The crowd went silent as a Rochester Rams player was lifeflighted from a game at Shenango Football Field Friday night. At nearly the same time as a timeout was taken for an injured Shenango Wildcats player, a Rochester player fell to the ground on the sideline. Out of respect, we are not including the specific details of the nature of the incident. Medics responded to the player around a minute later and an ambulance arrived on the sideline approximately 10 minutes later. A lifeflight helicopter took the player from the scene around 50 minutes later. The game then resumed with just over 9 minutes left. As of 2pm Saturday, we have received reports that the player is in the hospital and has not regained consciousness.
