(Pittsburgh, PA) Pittsburgh is now represented by a chef and restaurant on the semifinalist list for the prestigious James Beard Awards, which recognizes acheivements in the culinary field. Jamilka Borges, who is the co-owner of Lilith in Shadyside, is a semifinalist for a James Beard award for the best chef in the mid-Atlantic region. The Central and Eastern European vegan restaurant Apteka is also a James Beard award semifinalist for the category of outstanding wine and other beverages.
