Residents of Mexican Town Struggle with Fear After Massacre

LA MORA, Mexico (AP) — Stay or go? American residents of La Mora, Mexico are weighing what to do after nine women and children were killed in a cartel ambush. It’s too soon to say what will happen to La Mora, but locals are weighing whether it’s safe to stay. Steven Langford, who was mayor from 2015-2018, predicted that as many as half could leave, turning it into a “ghost town.” Others say there’s no way they’re leaving.
