(Pittsburgh, PA) A dozen registered sex offenders are expected to move out of a recovery house in the South Side Slopes of Pittsburgh after neighbors and city officials say they were blindsided. The home opened on Salisbury Street quietly, blocks from a playground, and residents say they only learned about it through Megan’s Law notifications. The operator has now agreed to move out after community outrage. Online Megan’s Law records show that a dozen registered sex offenders were living at a three-quarter recovery house in the 2800 block of Salisbury Street. Officials told KDKA-TV that the building, which was long vacant, was converted without any warning.
