During a brief 20-minute work session at the courthouse on Wednesday, the ongoing reassessment hearing between the County and Charles Betters became the focal point of discussion, rather than the 2019 budget that was first introduced last week.
When asked about the current status of the reassessment hearings, Solicitor Garen Fedeles said that it’s in the hands of Harrisburg:
Then it was asked if there was a Plan B for the County if they were to lose the reassessment hearings. Fedeles responded by saying that there would be legal options to deal with the $8-10 million matter…
…while Commissioner Sandie Egley reassured that the County will be prepared if they were to come out on the losing side:
As far as the 2019 budget, there was little discussion among the Commissioners themselves and even less among the department heads:
As Commissioner Camp mentioned in the above clip, department heads can attend the work session on December 19 in case they want to address any revisions or considerations for the proposed $210 million County Budget.
