Pittsburgh convenience store worker is in custody for being connected to a double shooting in Lawrenceville which injures one man and kills another man

(Lawrenceville, PA) A Pittsburgh convenience store worker is now in custody and has charges for being connected to a double shooting that occurred in Lawrenceville early on Saturday morning. According to court documents, police were called to a gas station on the 5000 block of Butler Street in Lawrenceville at 3:38 a.m. on Saturday for reports of a shooting. Davon Smith was the victim who died as a result of this incident. Twenty-two-year-old Randall Antonio Tate of Pittsburgh was working on a shift that started at 8 p.m. at the convenience store of the gas station on Friday. Tate was seen in a surveillance video firing shots at Smith and another man.Smith got shot four times in both the back and the chest while the other man got shot in the foot. The unidentified man that got shot in the foot told police he was intoxicated and he just wanted an apology from Tate about an incident in the past that occurred between them. An argument between Tate, Smith and the unidentified man is in a surveillance video, while Smith and the unidentified man followed Tate into the station of the cashier past a secure door that was bulletproof and behind the back of Tate, who pulled a gun from the band of his waist and fired at the duo after turning around. Davon Smith was shot while he was discovered crawling away from the building on his stomach is seen in a separate video. Tate got detained to get questioned by the police. According to a criminal complaint, he told them his disagreement with the victim happened about a year and a half ago, when that man was present at an attempted sexual assault of someone Tate cared about. According to police, Tate said he never saw a weapon on Smith and that Smith never said anything to him, but said the other victim motioned for Smith to do something to Tate with a hand motion. Tate has charges of aggravated assault and criminal homicide.
