(Lebanon County, PA) A mother from Pennsylvania was recently sentenced for handcuffing her eleven-year-old son to a basement fuel tank on January 11th2025 after police say she did this as a punishment for him eating too many hot dogs. Chazzity Candelario of Lebanon County was sentenced on Wednesday to sixteen months to five years in a state prison and she pleaded no contest to multiple charges, which included child endangerment. According to Lebanon County District Attorney Pier Hess Graf, Candelario woke the boy up at 5 a.m. and told him he violated a house rule about how much food the children are allowed to eat. This happened at the residence of Candelario on East Kercher Avenue and Graf told WGAL that the boy was able to get free from the fuel tank, but re-cuffed himself to his bunk bed in his room. Seventeen hours passed without food, water or using the bathroom for the boy before he was able to get a cell phone from his sibling and called 911. Candelario is being held in Lebanon County Prison and her bail is set at $100,000.
