PennDOT has announced some tips to help prepare you for the winter this week. According to District 11 Safety Press Officer Yasmeen Manyisha, you should prep your vehicle, whether at an autobody shop or by yourself. Manyisha also suggests that a store-bought emergency kit needs to be kept handy that includes a flashlight, batteries, jumper cables, and a first aid kit, as well as water, salt, a shovel, a blanket, and an extra pair of clothes. Ice and snow can also be a hindrance, so make sure those are clear on your car. When driving, make sure you are slow and stay a decent distance behind a car, as well as traveling on the roads that are plowed already to make sure you are safe during the winter season.
