WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she will “probably” soon transmit the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate. At a news conference Thursday, Pelosi said she has no plans to hold onto the articles indefinitely. The ongoing standoff between Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is turning into a test of wills for the leaders. It’s been three weeks since Trump was impeached, but Pelosi has yet to send the impeachment articles to the Senate for trial. Pelosi wants clear terms of the trial made public as Democrats demand witnesses. McConnell insists there will be no “haggling.”
