(Pittsburgh, PA) According to a WARN notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, over 100 employees will be affected as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette plans to close in May. Yesterday, the notice stated the closing, which is said to take place on May 4th, 2026, will affect 171 employees. The notice is listed as a “closure,” and is not listed as a layoff. The filing confirms that the notice also lists the address of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as 300 Corliss Street in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh, not the address of its former longtime office on the North Shore. The website of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania expresses that the WARN Act protects communities, families, and workers, while mandating that employers give a 60-day notice before closing plants or conducting mass layoffs.
