(Atlanta, GA) The profits of Norfolk Southern continue to increase despite the company being involved in the East Palestine train derailment that occurred in 2023. According to a report on Wednesday from results, Norfolk Southern had $750 million in profit during the first quarter this year. A class action settlement of $600 million was paid to residents close to the derailment. Norfolk Southern also got insurance payments of almost $1 billion to cover spending of almost $2 billion.
