At an hour-long meeting last night, members of Monaca City Council met to discuss plans to install solar panels at its reservoir. According to Beaver County Radio’s Lindsey Watson, who was at that meeting last night, the borough plans on installing close to 200 solar panels at its reservoir that could produce more than 200-thousand dollars worth of electricity over their lifespan. According to Borough Manager Mario Leon, the project has been in the works for several years, and could be up and running by April. The panels will cost about 150-thousand dollars to buy and install, half of which was paid for by a state grant.
