(Beaver, Pa.) Incumbent Pa. State Representative for the 16th District Rob Matzie has been elected to another term. Matzie actually trailed his Republican Competitor Rico Elmore going into the counting of the mail in ballots this morning by 208 and votes. Matzie ended up beating Elmore by 3,505 votes.

Matzie said via text message that “I am honored to have been chosen to continue representing my friends and neighbors in Harrisburg. And I am humbled to have done so by such a margin, especially in light of the negative ads and dark money that flooded into the race. The people of Beaver County know better, and can’t be fooled by special interest fat cats, no matter whom they may try to prop up.

I will work hard for all of the people of my district to the best of my abilities and will continue to fight for our shared goals of good jobs, good schools, better roads and bridges, safe communities, and opportunities for all. Simply put, I will represent you in the Capitol with the core belief that I’ve never strayed from – Beaver County first, always.”

Shortly after noon Wednesday the Beaver County Elections Bureau published the unofficial results of the election.
