Man in custody following SWAT incident in the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh

(Pittsburgh, PA) SWAT units were called to a house in the Knoxville neighborhood of Pittsburgh yesterday and the male suspect is now in custody. According to Allegheny County dispatchers, police were called to the area of Redlyn Street and Bren Way at 3:47 p.m. Pittsburgh Police confirmed the incident began as reports of a physical domestic situation. Officers stated that a man barricaded himself inside a house on Redlyn Street. The man surrendered at 5 p.m., which was about 30 minutes after SWAT units arrived. Police expressed that his charges are pending. The female victim was able to get out of the house and she was evaluated by medics. However, she refused to be taken to a local hospital.
