House Committee Studies Christiana Bill To License PA Plumbers

A bill that would require plumbers in Pennsylvania to be licensed for their trade is one step closer to becoming law. The House Professional Licensure Committee last week heard testimony from Pennsylvania plumbers on the importance of a state licensing program for the trade. State Representative Jim Christiana of Beaver County is the author of House Bill 1357, which would ensure plumbers licensed through the program have the knowledge and training needed to protect public health and the environment. Christiana tells Beaver County Radio newsman Pat Septak that his bill has bi-partisan support.
