Hickenlooper Drops Out

DENVER (AP) — The Democratic presidential campaign of former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper never quite caught on, and now a Democrat close to Hickenlooper tells The Associated Press he is dropping out of the race. Hickenlooper is expected to make the announcement on Thursday. Hickenlooper ran as a moderate but struggled with fundraising and developing an attention-grabbing message, and Democrats nationally have encouraged him to run for the Senate against Republican incumbent Cory Gardner.
