The Giant Eagle supermarket chain is considering a ban on plastic bags. It would follow in the footsteps of other supermarkets and businesses doing away with plastic bags, straws, and other items as a way to eliminate waste. Over the next few weeks and months, Giant Eagle and Shop ‘n Save will push paper bags over plastic and make a permanent decision depending on how it goes.
