(Washington, D.C.) Ford Motor recently made a recall of over 103,000 Ford F-150 pickup trucks because of an issue with the axle hub bolts in those vehicles. This issue can cause a loss of power to the driver or when the parking brake is not applied, can cause the vehicle to roll away. A Ford spokesperson told CBS MoneyWatch that it is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue. According to a recall notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration yesterday, “Both of these conditions can increase the risk of a crash.” The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed that the owners of the vehicles affected by this recall with the recall number of 25S82 will get a mail notification between August 18th, 2025 and May 22nd, 2026 and that a Ford or Lincoln dealer are places where those vehicle owners will have the assemblies of the rear axle shaft replaced for free. A report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirms that a clicking noise is one way that people can indicate that the axle hub bolt in a vehicle has something wrong with it. Certain Ford F-150 trucks produced between January 2nd, 2023, and May 21st, 2025 are the vehicles that this recall affects.
