(Aliquippa, PA) District Attorney David J. Lozier was joined by Mayor Dwan B. Walker, Aliquippa Police and PA State Police Sunday afternoon at Main and Knoll Streets for a press conference. This is the area where Dahvea Sparrow, 15 was shot to death at 11:19 p.m Saturday night after he left a party.
The DA told those in attendance that Aliquippa Police requested assistance from state police. Both agencies have been working non-stop since Saturday night which was 17 1/2 hours as of 5 p.m. Sunday. He said the city, citizens of the county, and Dahvea’s family ask for your assistance . He said our communities are battling an epidemic of juvenile crime including car thefts, shootings, robberies and firearms crimes.
Crime Solvers has posted a $5,000 reward for one week that is payable to anyone who provides information leading to the conviction of the murderer. Mayor Dwan B. Walker told those in attendance “This is lovely Aliquippa and our babies are suffering” This city has 10,000 people, our community is crying out” If you know something, say something!” It’s time to step up your city needs you.!”
Daveah’s mom, Nicole Sparrow told everyone” He’s gone that was mine, my only baby, and I got to plan his funeral.”
Dr. Phillip K. Woods, school district superintendent ,spoke to those in attendance, about his cousin who liked football and boxing. Mayor Walker added that he coached him in the youth football program in the city.
