(Pittsburgh, PA) According to Pennsylvania State Police, a major roadway in Pittsburgh will be closed for “an extended” period of time, as they investigate a shooting on Saturday that involved an officer. Police told KDKA-TV that Crane Avenue will be closed after a pursuit ended with shots being fired by an officer on Saturday. It happened just before 9:40 a.m. on I-376. A stolen Infinity was driving eastbound and the driver did not stop as troopers activated their lights and sirens on their cars. The driver exited the vehicle and escaped on foot at Crane Avenue at Saw Mill Run Boulevard, where the pursuit continued. One officer fired their weapon which hit the driver during the foot pursuit. The suspect was released into state police custody after being taken to the hospital and treated. No officers were injured as a result of the incident. Pennsylvania State police confirm that there is no threat to the public.
