Beaver Falls Pair Injured in Pa. Turnpike Accident in Indiana Township

(Indiana Twp., Allegheny County, Pa.) Pa State Police in Gibsonia are reporting that they were called to the scene of a one vehicle accident on the Pa Turnpike in Indiana Twp., Allegheny County at 6:00 PM on Sunday July 31, 2022.
Troopers are reporting upon arriving and investigating it was learned that 65-year-old Edward Coleman, of Beaver Falls, lost control of the 2017 Honda Accord that he was driving west bound at mile marker 42. Troopers said that he failed to safely negotiate a left hand curve in the road that caused him to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then exited the highway onto the shoulder impacting a guardrail. The vehicle continued to travel on the shoulder for around 270 feet before Coleman made an abrupt turn crossing all three lanes of travel and striking the concrete barrier before the vehicle then made an abrupt turn to the right crossing back over all three lanes of traffic back onto the shoulder and then made impact with large rocks located on a rock hillside. The vehicle traveled partially up the rock hillside before coming to a final rest.
Coleman and his passenger 64-year-old Brenda Coleman also of Beaver Falls suffered suspected minor injuries and were transported to Passavant hospital for treatment.
Edward Coleman was charged by State Police with not driving properly on roadways laned for traffic.
