Regardless of the winners and losers in the primary on Tuesday, Beaver County is celebrating a successful day of voting. The Commissioners and Law Department spoke about the election at the Work Session at the courthouse on Wednesday.

“The election yesterday went really smooth here in Beaver County,” said solicitor Garen Fedeles. “They are currently counting 8,875 mail-in ballots…of those, 1,625 were Republican and 7,250 votes were Democrat. The hope is that they have that completed by today.”

Fedeles acknowledged that there was minor issues with certain vote scanners being jammed, but reiterated that the overall election process was smooth.

“I just want to thank the volunteers who are downstairs counting the ballots,” Commissioner Tony Amadio added. “I don’t know how we would do it without them volunteering downstairs, and I think they need to be thanked.

The next Commissioners’ work session is scheduled for May 25 at 10:00 AM at the Beaver County Courthouse.
